Every year approximately 2.5 million people are diagnosed with skin cancer globally. Its negative impacts touch countless lives, including the Ellus & Krue family.
After 60 years as a recreational fisherman and carpenter, our father suffered from UV damaged skin and had to remove eight Basal Cell Carcinomas from his face. Post-surgery he was prescribed topical creams that left him with severely inflamed skin. He sought to find a more natural alternative that would help.
Through a chance encounter, dad met Professor Derek Richard from the Cancer & Ageing Research Foundation, who created a serum that alleviated his symptoms with great success. We realised that others could benefit from this partnership and Ellus & Krue was born.
Our skincare products are researched, developed and made in Australia. We are entirely Australian owned and operated, also working with other local Australian businesses where possible. We carefully source our ingredients and only use the best options from industry-leading suppliers around the world.
The Ellus & Krue range is scientifically formulated to help people enjoy their best skin at any age. We balance all of our products with nature’s most potent actives to help prevent the signs of premature ageing, protect against environmental pollutants and nourish damaged skin.
THE "WHY" OF ELLUS & KRUE
Professor Derek Richard is the Scientific Director of the Cancer & Ageing Research Program (link).
His field of research: Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Microbiology, Oncology and Carcinogenesis.
His work centres on understanding the biological processes that cause us to age and develop diseases associated with age. Using knowledge gained from these studies, he works with a world-leading research team to develop new therapeutics designed to treat and prevent age-related disease.
Professor Derek has done countless hours of research into the best natural compounds to fight ageing, including the best compounds in nature to improve skin health and appearance.
He’s found that by combining certain ingredients, they amplify each other’s benefits. Just some of the ingredients included in the EPI-gN™ Serum include French Lilac to increase blood flow and assists to reduce redness, Curcumin for an anti-oxidant boost, and Wakame seaweed to help smooth the skin and protect it against environmental pollutants.
Professor Derek runs a team of 50 researchers in a unique partnership with oncologist Professor Ken O’Byrne and has published in some of the world’s most highly regarded scientific journals, including Nature. Professor Derek was awarded a prestigious Australian Government Future Fellowship in 2011 and was awarded a Fellowship from the Chenhall Research Foundation in 2016. He has launched two biotechnology companies with the first developing a treatment for cancer and the second developing a therapeutic to reduce the risk of getting cancer.
We proudly support the Cancer And Ageing Research Foundation, donating a portion of every Ellus & Krue sale, to help them continue their cutting-edge research.
