The 3-Step Spring Detox

The 3-Step Spring Detox

For spring skin that looks fresh, radiant, and refined follow our quick and simple, three-step Spring Skin Detox routine.

Step #1: Double Your Efforts

Unless you’re a cleansing obsessive, most of us could do with a reminder about the importance of gentle but efficient cleansing, especially at the end of the day. Cleansing is without doubt the foundation of good skincare and you simply can’t achieve your best skin possible without this twice-daily routine. A great cleanser doesn’t just remove dirt and makeup, it also re-balances and resets your skin, encouraging the active ingredients in your serum and moisturiser that follow to do their best work.

For the most effective clean, we recommend double cleansing; the first cleanse will remove all makeup (including around the eyes), sunscreen, excess sebum, and the invisible but inevitable veil of pollution. The second cleanse is equally as important, acting as an important back-up move, helping to thoroughly cleanse the skin and help keep pores from getting congested.

Try double cleansing with our gentle Hydro Gel Cleanser, it’s boosted by skin-brightening botanicals like Cucumber and hydrating Aloe Vera to leave your skin refreshed, clean and balanced, without leaving it feeling tight or dry.

Step #2: Buff and Polish

Natural cellular renewal occurs within the skin every 28 days. Yet as we age, that process continues to slow down over time and skin can start to look dull, dry, and sluggish as a result. Layer in makeup, excess sweat, and even sunscreen and your pores can easily become congested and a breakout highly likely, especially if you’re not a double-cleansing devotee (go back to Step 1). Exfoliation will help stimulate the skin’s own cellular renewal process by lifting off dead skin cells and the ‘glue’ that binds them to the skin, boosting plump, fresh new cells to the surface and bringing natural radiance with them.

An important process for all skin types from dry to oily, exfoliation can either be prompted through chemical exfoliation (think AHAs and BHAs) or through manual exfoliation (with a mildly abrasive agent like Pumice).

Try our Detoxifying Exfoliant  to help kickstart cellular renewal and refine and retexturize your skin’s surface layers. A physical exfoliant based on superfine, mineral-rich Pumice and Kaolin Clay, it helps to draw out impurities, refine pores, and reboot radiance. We like to use it once a week, sometimes twice, but no more than that.

Step #3: Gently Does It

Not all skins like or appreciate a manual exfoliant and not everyone can be trusted to keep exfoliation to a once or twice weekly ritual. That freshly exfoliated look and feel can be a little addictive, we get it. If that’s you, then we recommend mixing a few pumps of cleanser in with your exfoliant for a more gentle approach that combines the powers of cleansing and exfoliating in one multi-tasking move. We also highly recommend this hybrid approach for obsessive exfoliators who know they need to pull back but still need to get their fix. Nobody’s perfect…

Try mixing 2-3 pumps of our Hydro Gel Cleanser with an almond-sized amount of our Detoxifying Exfoliant and gently massage into skin before rinsing with warm water. Follow with our pH Balance Gel Toner to rehydrate and balance the skin.
